A more connected you leads to a more connected family and more connected families lead to thriving communities
chiropractic
In my practice, the purpose of chiropractic care is not to treat conditions or chase symptoms; rather, its purpose is the restoration of your body’s natural function to help prepare you to adapt to life’s forces. Remember: you are not your diagnosis. As a chiropractor, I work with your nervous system to help bring your body back into balance using gentle spinal adjustments. My goal is to reduce stress related interference which helps regulate and bring ease to your system. All the systems of your body — circulatory, digestive, eliminatory, hormonal, glandular, immunological, muscular, reproductive, respiratory, and skeletal — depend on the harmony and optimal function of your nervous system.
What is your nervous system and why do I work with it?
Your nervous system is broken down into two parts; CNS (central nervous system) brain and spinal cord and PNS (peripheral nervous system) the rest of the nerves that extend to every gland, tissue and cell in your body. Your nervous system is the communication network between your brain, spinal cord and all the systems of your body — it tells your heart to beat, your lungs to breathe, controls the way you move, how you respond to stepping on something sharp, the words you say, how you think and learn, how you heal, how to digest your food and convert it into energy, to all of your senses, how you adapt to stress, your environment and so much more. I choose to work with your nervous system because I believe helping your body better regulate leads to a more connected you. The more you are connected to yourself, the more you can connect with your family and loved ones. I strongly believe healthier, more connected families lead to thriving communities.
Chiropractic for
the whole family
Under the mainstream view of health, the current knowledge and care of the human body is based on a mechanistic model. Meaning the body is broken down into distinct mechanical parts separate from one another. From this model, there’s a specialist responsible for understanding and caring for each individual system. Care then follows an outside-in approach, trying to add or take away things to suppress symptoms to resolve the “issue.” In my practice, I take a different approach. I see the body as a dynamic, ever-changing organism, continuously adapting and acclimating to its needs and surrounding environment. This view is a model based on vitalism. Along with viewing the body as a dynamic system, vitalism also understands there is an innate intelligence within the organism whose sole purpose is designed to continually heal itself. This view of health shows us that every system in the body coordinates their functions together in a harmonious and delicate dance, down-regulating or up-regulating in response to what we expose it to daily.

Chiropractic is designed on this concept of vitalism. It is assumed that your body has an innate intelligence to healing and dis-regulation occurs when there is an interruption in the body’s ability to adapt to life’s forces (stress, environmental toxins, traumatic events and technological distractions). What disrupts this communication network is called a subluxation: “sub-“ present in only a small proportion or less than the normal amount; “luxate” to displace or remove from its proper place. Chiropractic adjustments are the least invasive way to access and improve the function of your nervous system.
By assessing and correcting subluxations through a safe, specific, and controlled force applied to a joint (adjustment), the interference is removed and the body’s nervous system is able to regulate in a more efficient way. In essence, with chiropractic, healing is coming from within your body rather than from the chiropractor’s adjustment. Overall, conventional medicine is based on an outside-in approach where healing comes from something being added to the body, such as medicine or surgery, which has saved many lives.
However, for overall health and functionality, chiropractic honors your body’s natural capabilities to heal. It is based on an inside-out approach where true healing occurs when the body’s own abilities are activated. Your body is so much more intelligent than you’ve been taught and I’m here to help you rediscover just how powerful you are.PRENATAL CARE
From preconception through postpartum, giving your body all the raw materials it needs to build a human from scratch, along with the restoration of your body’s natural function, is essential.
pediatric care
The birth process is more than just the means through which we come into this world. It is the first major period of transition in our lives.

Though my extra training is in prenatal, postpartum and pediatric care and development, I whole heartedly believe everyone can benefit from chiropractic care. Yes fathers/partners, that means you too. Regardless of the lifestyle choices you make, the chiropractic approach will improve your inherent ability to function, help you better regulate and adapt to various life stressors and bring overall ease to your system. Remember: the goal is to help you create life-time habits to build a life fundamentally different than what you have now.
Why don’t you
accept insurance?
This is a valid question I am asked often and rightfully so. To keep it short and to the point, I do not want insurance companies telling me what I can and cannot do for my practice members. Health and healing are not linear nor should they be placed in a “one-size-fits-all” box. Each journey is dynamic, complex and unique to every individual.
In general, insurance companies are not very focused on preventative or wellness services. They were designed for short-term passive symptom and disease care where treatment is heavily invested in the conventional model of health care, which mainly utilizes drugs, theraputics or surgery. As Chris Kresser states, “Insurance-based medicine is not evidence-based medicine.” Keep in mind, what our culture calls healthcare could be more correctly termed “symptom” care, where the approach is mostly based on what you present with.
This means you typically don’t seek care unless you are experiencing a series of symptoms specific to an already progressed state of your body trying to heal as best as it knows how, which we often call “dis-ease.” My approach is to understand the “why” behind your presentation rather than only suppressing it. I want to help you learn how to and what tools to use to keep your body well overall long term. To understand that your body is sending you warning signs instead of thinking it is in a “diseased” state.
Now, if you have a policy, it will most likely help with at least some of the expenses for care in the conventional model. Unfortunately, few policies pay for things that help us keep and improve our health and most often, those things are free anyway. An unfortunate reality is that most insurance does not cover chiropractic care for children. I am not willing to exclude the portion of the population that chiropractic care can positively impact the most. It is, and forever will be, easier and less expensive to grow healthy children than to repair damaged adults.
The great news about not having to deal with insurance companies is that practice costs are kept down, so I can offer affordable chiropractic care for your whole family. I do not use diagnostic codes in my practice, but if you have chiropractic coverage with your insurance, I will gladly provide you with notes and billing information if you’re willing to file yourself for reimbursement. I always welcome open and honest conversations about finances. I am here to serve you and will do all that I can to help.
